ROSEVALE LED STEER

 WINS HEAVYWEIGHT CARCASE CLASS

ROYAL QUEENSLAND SHOW 2008

In 2008, 3 Rosevale Steers have been exhibited as led steers at shows in south-east Queensland by students of The Southport School.  The steers were fed at the Beenleigh State High School along with their regular show team.

The steers had a short preparation and were exhibited in Class 7 at the Royal Queensland Show for Heavy Steers 491kg-560kg.  None were placed on the hoof.

In the carcase section of the class one steer was placed first in a class of 46 head.  The steer was 87% Santa Gertrudis with a percentage of Hereford in his breeding.  His carcase excelled for fat depth & distribution and lost very few points right across the range of traits.

Congratulations to all concerned for a job well done.
