Rosevale Santa Gertrudis - Beef and Stud Cattle

Commercial Herd Sires

rosevale commerical cattle

The Rosevale Commercial Herds are run in Multiple mating groups of up to five sires per mob.  At branding time the best of the bull calves are retained as bulls.  Their sires are identified through DNA.

A number of the sires retained for use within the herd are used as two-year-olds before being sold as rising three-year-olds at the Rosevale Annual Sale.  The sires used represent some of the highest performing genetics at Rosevale and while their progeny do not carry Breedplan EBVs their performance in weight gain and other traits often matches the best of our fully recorded cattle who in turn rate highly when benchmarked against the Santa Gertrudis breed.
