ROSEVALE ULURU U290 (PS)
Uluru U290(PS) was retained as a sire last season and mated in a single-sire stud herd. He was our pick of the Royal sons from his first drop of calves. The power of Royal with the extreme fertility of Empire is one of our go-to genetic combinations and in this case we got the desired outcome. Uluru is an easy doing bull whose trim ‘Rosevale’ sheath is a feature. We were in a position (through selection) over twenty years ago that we were experiencing only small numbers of sheath breakdowns in our bulls in comparison to levels in the breed. After doing Serving Capacity testing on our sires we learnt that the very best servers were the bulls with the trimmer sheaths so we set about selecting for this. Today our herd is renowned for this trait which means very few breakdowns and more calves. This bull is a great example of the results of our work. Uluru’s EBVs highlight his female fertility genetics, high growth and doing ability. As a result, his $Indexes sit at a high level with his two breeding indexes sitting him in the top one percent of the breed. We believe that this bull has a lot to offer and we are look- ing forward to seeing his calves in the Spring.
