Volcan V18(PP) is an efficiently made bull who has inher- ited his slicker coat from his sire Panama (pictured below). Throw the Jackaroo look in from his dam’s pedigree and the result is added sire appeal. Our ultimate aim is to breed animals that are high per- forming across all traits. They must also be sound and functional in order to reproduce at low cost, year in year out. Volcan is a good example of the light, trouble-free sheath we have bred on our cattle without losing performance. At the same time we have strengthened the polled gene. This combination of traits didn’t look possible a number of years ago but it is reality now. In addition, Volcan sells with a semen morphology test result of 87% normal as his EBV suggests.
